Résumé

The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to till it and care for it»(Gen. 2:15). This statement describes the relationship between God the Creator, the human beings that are created in God’s image and the rest of nature. Humanity exists, therefore, in a three-way relationship, with God, with each other and with the earthly creation of God. These are not three separate, independent relationships but are inseparably interrelated so that earthly relationships form a cohesion with the relationship with the Divine as the central, governing relationship of the three. No one of the three can function effectively if there is a malfunction in the other two.
